Mistakes

Mistakes are mine to make,
Not yours to decide.
No matter how acrid they are,
They are mine to savor.

They bruise my soul,
Bleed my love,
Mutilate my zeal,
And shatter my dreams.

They cut me, crush me and damage me.
They push me into the valleys of blue,
That are deep and boundless, vast and far.

They scar me to remind me of my follies,
Leech me to gift valor,
Torment me to accord grit,
Ruin me to make a phoenix.

Still, I love them,
Adore them,
And lust after them.

For they make me live,
Make me breathe,
Make me bold,
Make me stand,
Make me who I am.

I exist, I live and I prevail for mistakes,
Because they are mine to make,
Mine to savor.

  3. Great poem Pankti. Totally agree with your thought here. No matter how much you are hurt by that one mistake, you will always emerge out stronger and more knowledgeable because of that one mistake. Loved reading it.

  5. Lovely poem Pankti, my advise to you is go on making mistakes and care about none. For a Soul becomes pure only after passing many journeys of mistakes and errors
