You Were The One…

You were the one to bring me in this world,
You were the one to show me the colors of life,
You were the one who taught me to ride bicycle,
You were the one who sheltered me from the world.

When I was at my worst, you were the one to soothe me,
When I was throwing tantrums, you were the one to placate me,
When I was happy making troubles, you were the one to show me the light,
When I was there, you were the one to be there too.

Then one day, you just upped and left.

You were the one to abandon me,
You were the one to shatter my kingdom of dreams,
You were the one who made me jealous of other’s fathers,
You were the one who never loved me enough to be there.

When I was praying hard for you, you were the one to give up,
When I was crying out for you, you were the one to leave me be,
When I wanted to be naïve, you were the one who forced me to be stoic,
When I wanted to be your world, you were the one to give up the hope.

You were the one to leave me begging for more, robbed of joy and faith,
And still the world thinks the world of you.
