I look for you with hope in my eyes,
Longing for you to shower me with love,
Yearning to feel your warmth surround me,
Wishing for a shard of your bliss to enchant me.


I look for you even when others ask me to give up,
Defying the expectation of souls around me,
Disregarding their words of caution,
Flaunting my faith in you.

I look, look and look until I finally find you,
Recognizing a part of me that you hold,
Hoping to find shelter within you,
Waiting for you to heal my wounds.

I look at you but you don’t,
Rejecting my desire of completeness,
Shattering my faith in dreams that I hold dear,
Breaking my foundation brick by brick.

I look at you to see nothing,
Understanding the disillusion in you,
Finding emptiness in my dewy dreams,
Realizing the years decayed in search of you.

I look again but for me this time,
Searching for a glimmer of valor within me,
Picking up fragments of my broken soul,
Willing to find content within me.
