Shade

Recently I visited Somnath, one of the 12 Jyotirlings. Before you start taking me as a religious person, let me clarify that I go to these places because my family loves to visit them and I like accompanying them. On our temple visiting spree - Somnath really has too many temples - I discovered one gem of a place. In a huge compound, there are multiple temples on one side and on the other, there was this beautiful tree surrounded by benches. Behind the trees, the sea inlet was flowing smoothly, blowing cool winds under the hot sun.

While my family was visiting various temples, I did nothing but sit on this bench, staring out at the water. While enjoying the serenity of the surrounding, I could only think one thing: is this the shade that we need time and again to gain temporary respite from the scorching path of our life?

  1. You know I have a lot of words I really like but shade is one of the best among them.. my blog nick name is shade.. i sign most of my posts with shade coz i believe it is one of those words that has a lot of life in it..
shade denotes colors and colors are but a part of life.. if our life is stripped of shade, we would be monochrome bearing no real zest and merely surviving and not living.
No, i didn't hijack your post.. what i want is to tell you that I loved the way you pick a place.. talk of the shade and despite being at a religious place, sometimes, it is not the temple that you are revering, but the feeling of faith..

BEAUTIFUL it is.. and beautiful are you <3

    1. I love the way you think :) Usually I'm not that philosophical but sometimes some places make me to go stark, raving mad....this place was one of those and so I had to write about it. And thanks sweetie for your kind words :D
